I have been using Faststone for YEARS; unfortunately, I now have Windows 7 on a laptop; but the 5.3 version is not compatible with the Windows 7 OS.

However, I am able to still use it when using my other computer, a desktop PC, which has the Windows XP OS (my favorite OS), whenever I can get it to work properly.

I've been trying for 3 months, since purchasing my refurbished laptop, to find a (freeware) capture program that is compatible with Windows 7. Nothing I've tried so far has been as satisfactory when comparing the program to Faststone 5.3.

Re: thefreewarejunkie.com/2008/07/did-you-know-you-can-create-multiple.html comments

Thanks!

Re: thefreewarejunkie.com/2007/09/hardware-tip-charge-multiple-usb.html comments

Problem is if you pull too much amperage through your AC to DC transformer you risk destroying your devices. You may also gain the ability to roast marshmallows where a charging station once stood. To ensure you do this correctly always double the amperage necessary on the AC to DC transformer.

Re: confessions of a freeware junkie: Pandora for the Wii: Finetune

I have big problems with finetune. It often pays only partial tracks. It often skips over tracks entirely, one after the other. It plays unrelated genres to the one I want to listen to and insultingly posts a message "you have to listen to some of them" when I try to change to another selection. Tonight it tried to blame my ethernet connection for its inability to load when may computer was functioning perfectly on the same connection. I thought it would be at least remotely like Pandora, but I guess that's expecting too much.

Re: thefreewarejunkie.com/2007/07/determine-any-color-on-your-screen.html comments

'grabc' cli tool

Re: confessions of a freeware junkie: Antivirus Update: Microsoft Security Essentials updated to version 2.0

Thanks........

Re: confessions of a freeware junkie: Sorry for the spam, and an announcement

thanks for your posts, good luck!

Re: confessions of a freeware junkie: Sorry for the spam, and an announcement

thats good you think for your reader
http://www.crunchcorn.com

Re: thefreewarejunkie.com/2006/10/wysiwyg-html-editor-kompozer.html comments

I have no words for this great post such a awe-some information i got gathered. I am also on a fixed income now due to being disabled, and my credit rating is absolutely the pits...sigh.

Unfortunately, there are VERY few mods that have been created so far for my model (actually only one) I was hoping to install a Cyanogen mod, but nope, not yet...

Also, I purchased a larger and faster 4 GB SD card from the 2 GB that came with the phone,b/c having rooted the phone means that I am able to move most of the apps that I have downloaded from the "market" and installed into the phone from its relatively small amount of internal storage, could then be moved into the SD card instead.

I have also partitioned the new SD card into 3rds: last is a 100 MB partition (swap-file), middle: 1.4 GB (ext3 Linux filesystem), and the first partition being 2.5 GB as FAT32 for the Android apps BEFORE I installed it into the phone, b/c I intend to soon install a Linux distro to use on the phone as well.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I had to back up everything stored on the old SD card up with Titanium and then copy ALL of the installed apps and the default Android.apk files that I had moved (being only those that were capable of being moved) to the original SD card on my PC, by using an app named PDA.net and being tethered so that I could copy and install them into the new FAT32-formatted SD card partition.

Being a smartphone n00b, I think that I did quite well on my first attempt at "messing" with my very first smartphone and made only ONE mistake, when I learned that both the apps and files that I had copied into a folder that I had created for them in my Windows XP OS needed to be copied into ONLY a FAT32-formatted partition, and NOT NTFS!! When I checked the new SD card later, I discovered to my great dismay, that every. single. app. and. file. that I had copied to the new FAT32-formatted SD card partition were completely unreadable and corrupted...whoops!!

Re: thefreewarejunkie.com/2007/08/script-monitor-logfile-for-changes.html comments

I uploaded it here: http://community.spiceworks.co...
